There are thousands of people that are working from home as a freelancer due to the unforeseeable circumstances of the pandemic worldwide. COVID-19 turns our life in a 360-degree, everything stops. Thousands of stores were closed. Hundreds of businesses were closed. Millions of employees can’t report to work. Only the essential workers and businesses are open to provide an everyday supply for the people, The skeletal workers to keep their company operating, and The front liners, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who save lives to fight the virus head-on. Thousands lost their jobs. Millions stayed at home. Everyone is struggling. These are the reason why working from home is in-demand right now.

Unfortunately, my family-owned business is one of the hundreds that are still closed. Can you imagine 4 months of NO INCOME? But still, we manage to survive because we have emergency funds. (Thank you, Lord!) Up until now, we are not allowed to operate because we’re one of the last businesses to open. We have to wait until the General Community Quarantine is lifted as per the government.

Gratefully, my friend Jeniffer who is a freelancer sends a link about a very affordable Freelancing course from Filipino Virtual Assistance. She knows that I really really really want to learn how to be a freelancer and earn while I’m at home to help my parents with the finances. I am so blessed to have a friend who is willing to help me out because we are on a tighter budget. Now, I am part of the Freelancing Course - Batch 45 of 854 students with Coach Julmar Grace Locsin. ( Hi Coach! )

The freelancing course helps me learn A LOT! And here are those:

  1. VA Basics with Branding set up, Applications, Payment set up, and General Virtual Assistant Tasks.

  2. Social Media Basics with Account creation and optimization, content planning and creation, scheduling and posting, organic campaign marketing.

  3. Simple Website creation with optimization and management, online writing, and marketing.

  4. SEO basics and set up with SEO on-page optimization, SEO off-page optimization.

  5. Plus bonus lessons on Lead generation, Facebook Ads, Youtube optimization, basic Email marketing, and building a freelancing empire.

There are 20 recorded lessons to learn at your own pace. 5 portfolios to be sent weekly which I am a buzzer-beater on this. 4 Live coaching sessions every Sunday to reflect and connect with Coach Grace, I am one of the early birds and always present. If I finish all the lessons, I’ll get a Course Completion Certificate and a bonus of a 20% voucher discount on the next course purchase. They are also giving FREE APPRENTICESHIP and Hiring opportunities. To learn more about the course, go to the Filipino Virtual Assistance website.

It’s challenging to learn in a new field. Although I have experience at a BPO company, this is still different. There are sleepless nights, 2 big mugs of coffee every single day, and lots of sugar to keep me productive. Your brain will really work, you will also discover that you have a talent in a certain area. This is really blood and sweat and I am also lucky to be part of batch 45 who are very helpful. I love that I am learning new skills and I really want to be good at this. What keeps me going is the determination to be one of the Filipino freelancers, to give my parents a comfortable life with travel vacations, have financial freedom, and earn at the comfort of my own home.

This pandemic helps me realize that the world has so much to offer. You just have to open your heart and eyes to see the opportunity that lies in front of you. Don't just wish for it, you have work for it. I am now in my 3rd week, almost done. I can't wait to be a Certified Freelancer.
